Studio Nicholson x Mackintosh
For Winter ’25, Studio Nicholson and Mackintosh champion the best of British with a hand-made 4-piece capsule, which carefully considers shape, functionality and meticulous craftsmanship.
Combining Studio Nicholson's fabric-first approach and Mackintosh’s world-class manufacturing heritage, the fully waterproof limited-run unisex collection has been hand-made in the United Kingdom. Consisting of 2 outerwear styles, a pant and a bucket hat, the collection arrives in a subtle colour palette of dark navy, black and peat.
Totalling 9 options across the 4 styles, Studio Nicholson’s architectural and voluminous design codes have been expertly constructed using Mackintosh’s signature rubberised bonded cotton fabric, where two layers of high-quality cotton are bonded together with rubber to ensure maximum functionality, allowing the wearer to remain completely dry.
When Mackintosh’s artisanal manufacturing expertise is fused with Studio Nicholson’s sophisticated and modern approach to cut, silhouette and shape, the result is a beautiful yet hardwearing capsule of functional garments. This ethos is embodied perfectly in the Ettrick, a classic knee-length raincoat with a striking yet relaxed oversized fit. This hero style is produced in navy, black and peat for effortless and timeless styling. Impeccably cut to allow volume and cropped to the waist, the Teviot jacket arrives in black and dark navy. A versatile approach to the former Ettrick coat, a taped black hem applies textural contrast. Both outerwear pieces are finished with signature dark brown Studio Nicholson buttons, taped black pocket details and button-fastened throat guards for further protection from the elements.
The Tay pant, produced in Mackintosh’s Raintec bonded cotton in black and dark navy, is a roomy straight-leg pant featuring a hidden slip pocket on the thigh.
Each Studio Nicholson x Mackintosh coat is made entirely by hand with one artisan working on a single garment from start to finish. The garments are then sewn, sealed and lapped using a unique rubber solution that is intricately applied by fingertip, a technique that is learnt and mastered over many years.
