1017 Alyx 9Sm Crafted By Mackintosh | SS20

Continuing with our very successful series of ‘Crafted By’ collaborations. Our extremely talented team of artisans at Mackintosh, have worked with the design team at 1017 ALYX 9SM, to create the fourth iteration of the fashion houses collection using Mackintosh’s unique waterproofed cloth and fabrication skills.

 
Debuted at the 1017 ALYX 9SM Spring/Summer 2020 show. The collaboration was conceived by Creative Director, Matthew M Williams, after a trip to the Mackintosh factory in Glasgow. Interested in rubberised bonded cotton, he sought to use this unique method of construction as a foundation, whilst creating new pieces that introduced a contemporary visual language which integrated the innovation of 1017 ALYX 9SM with the craftsmanship of Mackintosh.

 
This collaboration continues to push the boundaries of technical fabrication and style. The season sees a mix of archetypal Mackintosh silhouettes with more exaggerated shapes and an overall, diverse offering of tailored weather protective outerwear. ALYX’s iconic buckle fastenings can be seen throughout the collection, as well as the introduction of their new waterproof zip technology.
